June Reads

The Hunger Games

Let me just start off by saying that this book is hyped up for a reason. The pacing was so good that I literally couldn’t set it down, the plot and storyline forced the reader to think and reflect upon the main message in the story, the romance was sweet and full but not overdone, and all the characters were amazing. I have been wanting to read these books for quite a while, but wasn’t allowed to until I was older because of the violence. I’m partially glad for this because I wouldn’t have understood it as much if I had read it when I was 9.

Rating: πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Catching Fire

At first I was kind of nervous to read this book because the original is *almost* always better than the sequel. I am happy to say that I was not disappointed. Just like the first installment, Catching Fire was full of exciting twists and turns in the plot/storyline, a meaningful message, and debatably the best protagonist of all time. Can’t wait to read the Mockingjay!

Rating: πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

The Name of This Book is Secret

I loved this book as well! The writing style and the pacing were spot on, and the characters from the protagonists to the villains were unique, in a good way. This was a quick and an entertaining book, and easily made the reader want to come back for more.

Rating:Β πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Fish in a Tree

I enjoyed this book for the most part, but there were some minor problems with it. For example Other than that, it was an excellent book with a good message

Rating:Β πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Overall, I’m really happy with the books I read this month. The worst rating I gave was 4 hearts, which is still any amazing rating!

NaNoWriMo Update

I’ll admit, the first month of NaNo has been hard, even though I’ve spilt up writing 50k into 3 months rather than one month, it’s still difficult. I did this because I wanted to take my time on my writing and not just rush to make a lame rough draft that will take a lot of editing later to fix.

I am little bit behind, but I don’t really care–all that really matters is that I’m passionate about my writing, working hard, and genuinely enjoying the experience.

It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.

Hi, and welcome back to another Plan With Me post! Last time we had a watermelon theme to kick off summer but now we have a daisy theme. This month, I switched up a lot of things with my bullet journal. I took out my mood tracker, habit tracker, and changed the layout of my weekly spreads. Hope you enjoy!

Next is the monthly log! Nothing special here.

Above is my NaNoWriMo tracker! Last month I made one (I didn’t have it in last month’s Plan With Me, though) and found it really useful. This was an absolute nessicity to have.

In case any of you are wondering why I am doing NaNo in both June and July it’s because I spilt the challenge into 3 months so I wouldn’t be stressed and could focus on making a good first draft.

Next is the Blog Stats page, which includes post ideas, and what I read. I didn’t do this last month and I think it will definately come in handy!

Then I have my money tracker. I find this spread very useful, even if it is boring to fill it out.

Here is the Brain Dump page. When I put this in last month’s bujo, I wasn’t expecting it to be useful. I was wrong and I love this spread and am very happy with how it turned out!

And finally my weekly spread! I decided to change things up a bit and I loved how this spread turned out.

Thank you for reading my latest Bullet Journal post! What do you think of this spread? Do you like this month’s theme? Let me know down in the comments section.

Cameras and Pens Challenge #1

Hello! If you didn’t know already, I will be participating in the Cameras and Pens Challenge hosted byΒ Carol @ Peeking Through a Kaleidoscope. Basically, every week or so, Carol will give those participating in the challenge a new prompt to write a story about/write a poem/take a picture of what you think the prompt means. I am on Team Strawberry!

There is still one spot left on Team Pineapple and the sign ups are still open, if anyone is interested. (I totally recomend it, personally because I had such a fun time writing this short story!)

I laboriously climb to the top of the steep plateau, where the land flattens out, far away to escape the harsh world that is reality and my one regret.

I like to come up here, hidden in the wilderness where nobody can see me. I feel better not to be seen, anyway.

Coming up here and watching the golden sun set, it’s like things are normal. It’s like pretending things are OK.

But they’re not.

All I want is for things to go back to the way the used to be. Unfortunately, I don’t think that’s possible.

I thought I could stop it from happening.

I was wrong.

It was my sister.

Somebody was out to get her, and I knew it.

I wanted to be able to protect her, but I couldn’t, for my own safety. If I had gone after her, they would have come after me.

And then we both would have been in trouble.

My sister, Eliza was an intelligent scientist who made a ground-breaking discovery that could have saved millions of lives and could have transformed humanity’s outlook on modern medicine forever. I say could have because Eliza’s brilliant plan didn’t work out so well in the end.

People are greedy.

Too greedy.

Determined to make a couple extra dollars off of Eliza’s genius invention, they kidnapped her and stole the chemical formula to make the medicine and recreated it, adding in more in more chemicals to make it cheaper and easier to produce. Then they sold it to the general public.

Of course, everyone thought it was genius.

It was.

But it wasn’t theirs.

It was Eliza’s.

I owe you, Eliza. I am in your debt.

I know I will get in trouble for searching for you. They know that I am guilty of my mistake. I had the golden opportunity to save you and your genius brain before all of this started. I tried, dear Eliza, I really did. But it wasn’t enough.

I promise I will try harder this time, like you always did.

You taught me everything I know, big sis.

I don’t care anymore. Who would I be if I didn’t rush to your aid? The world needs you. I do, too.

If you are reading this, I am coming to help you, no matter the sonsequences.

I love you, Eliza.
