Plan With Me: December 2018 (Holly, Stars, and Candy-Canes)

IMG-2678.JPG

Greetings bookish friends!

I hope everyone has had a great Thanksgiving and a restful break.I haven’t been very active lately, but I was able to come out with this post a couple days before the start of December to hopefully give you guys some inspiration.

This month’s theme is Christmas, featuring holly leaves, candy canes and stars. I have to admit that the holly were a little more difficult to doodle than I originally anticipated, but they ended up looking really good! Please let me know in the comments if you would like to see a holly leaf tutorial.

Supplies

  • Calligraphy – Tombow Fudenoske Soft Tip Brush Pen (Black)
  • Markers – Crayola Supertips 100 Count
  • Notebook – Minimalism Art Dotted A5
  • Pen
  • Pencil (for sketching out doodles)

I have ben using the Tomboy Fudenoske Brush Pen as a calligraphy pen since November and have really been liking them. I know that there is a lot of hype around the Tombow Dual Brush Pens, which are awesome, but I think these pens are easier to control, and turn out smoother. They come in a two pack, both black, either hard or soft tip. I personally prefer the soft tip, because even if it is more difficultPlease note that these are in no way sponsored.

First is my cover page! I think it turned out really nice. On the right, I decided to add a little yellow box similar to the monthly log just squished up. In months past, I haven’t done this, but I”m glad I tried it out. To the left I have a cute Christmas quote.

Next is my standard monthly log with some cute Christmas doodles. On the side, I have a social media growth tracker. I like to have it to know how much my blog and Instagram is growing, but I try not to pay too much attention to it because constantly tracking social media can be unhealthy. But still, thank you so much for 100 followers on Instagram.

Here are my trackers! To the left of the spread I have my money tracker. Unfortunately, some excess pen marks got on there and there is some ghosting, which is my ultimate bullet journal pet-peeve. Despite this, I am happy with the way that it turned out. Tracking your expenses is super important, especially during to holiday season.

To the right I have an empty half a page for writing down blog post ideas. November is always a super busy month for me, but in December I’m going to try to write more blog posts. And of course, there is also a space for me to write down books on my TBR and on my Christmas wishlist.

And finally, I have my weekly spread! This weekly spread is defiantly not the “minimalistic” theme that is so popular is bullet journaling, but nevertheless, I liked the way it turned out. Of course, I have my Events sidebar off to the right of the spread for tracking events and dates.

Plan With Me: October 2018 (Pumpkin theme)

IMG_1552.jpg

Greetings bookish friends! October is just around the corner, so are my bullet journal spreads for the month of October. I’m really happy with how these turned out, and I’m thinking that this may be my new favorite theme! Autumn is my favorite season, and I love pumpkin pie! *Who doesn’t?*

I will also be posting this on my newly begun bookstagram/artstagram account. The username is @katiethatbookishgirl. Please help support this blog by giving it a follow!

Supplies:

  • Minimalism Art A5 Dotted Journal (Any dotted journal works)
  • Crayola Supertips (I have the 100 count, but most people use the 50 count)
  • A pen
  • A pencil
  • An eraser

If you want me to be honest, I am excited to change into a new bullet journal in 2019 because I’m finding that the pages in the Minimalism Art A5 Dotted Journal have a lot of ghosting. It might have just been that I colored in the pumpkins with my supertips too quick, or that I may need thicker pages for my next bullet journal.

Sorry if you see any marker bleeding through the pages!

First is my cover page/quote. Overall, I love how this spread turned out and think the quote fits nicely with the theme.

Next in my monthly log. I am also really happy with the end result and think it ties in with the theme. I have a little sidebar box on the left which is my social media growth tracker. It was inspired by Amanda Rach Lee (my favorite youtuber). If you aren’t already following her, go check her out she is amazing!

Here is my habit tracker and money tracker. (Also inspired by Amanda Rach Lee, by the way). Although filling out trackers can sometimes be boring, I think that I will put these to use. I also doodled a cute little pumpkin patch at the bottom of the page, which I absolutely love!

And lastly is my weekly spread. I decided to do a dutch door style spread and think it looks perfect! This was my first time trying this style of weekly spreads, and so far I’m really liking it. It’s very functional for me because I can look at my weekly events while having my to-do/homework list out. I will definitely be doing this spread more in the future.

This month, I switched up a lot of things with my bullet journal. I took out my mood tracker, habit tracker, and changed the layout of my weekly spreads. Hope you enjoy!

First I have my cover page! I’m pretty happy with how this turned out. I even have a Tom Petty quote/song lyric on the other side! In case you didn’t know, I love Tom Petty.

Next is the monthly log! Nothing special here.

JULPWM56.jpg

Above is my NaNoWriMo tracker! Last month I made one (I didn’t have it in last month’s Plan With Me, though) and found it really useful. This was an absolute nessicity to have.

In case any of you are wondering why I am doing NaNo in both June and July it’s because I spilt the challenge into 3 months so I wouldn’t be stressed and could focus on making a good first draft.

Next is the Blog Stats page, which includes post ideas, and what I read. I didn’t do this last month and I think it will definately come in handy!

JULPWM78.jpg

Then I have my money tracker. I find this spread very useful, even if it is boring to fill it out.

Here is the Brain Dump page. When I put this in last month’s bujo, I wasn’t expecting it to be useful. I was wrong and I love this spread and am very happy with how it turned out!

And finally my weekly spread! I decided to change things up a bit and I loved how this spread turned out.

Thank you for reading my latest Bullet Journal post! What do you think of this spread? Do you like this month’s theme? Let me know down in the comments section.
