7 Favorite Things Tag

Greetings bookish friends!

I was tagged to do the 7 Favorite Things by Olivia from Purely Olivia, who by the way is totally awesome. I technically wasn’t tagged for this, but I asked her if I can do it and she said yes. This is kind of late and should have not procrastinated and posted this earlier, but whatever. Enjoy!

⭐︎Rules⭐︎

  1. Link back to and thank the person that tagged you. Thanks, Olivia
  2. Link back to and thank the blogger who began the tag. Thank you so much, Beth!
  3. List and picture at least seven of your favorite things.
  4. Tag at least seven people, which I will do at the end of my post.
  5. List the seven rules
  6. I don’t have all of them
  7. There we go yeehaw sis

💛Day-Dreaming💛

This one is kind of cheesy, but whatever! Daydreaming is enjoyable and a great way to get good ideas.

You get idea from daydreaming. You get ideas from being bored. You get ideas all the time.

The only difference between writers and other people is we notice when we’re doing it.

📝Poetry + Writing📝

As many of you already know, I am not only an avid reader, but a writer. One of my favorite types of writing is poetry. Although I rarely write poetry, I think it is beautiful.

🌎Globes🌎

Globes may seem like a random, insignificant household object, but oh boy, you’re wrong. Globes tell the story of the earth. It’s lakes, mountains, oceans, deserts, you name it. It is a tangible display of humanity’s regime on planet earth and a precise graph of existence and space. Wow, I am such an intelligent, observant scholar. You can find the timezone of a certain location in comparison to another. And, one can even see the center of the world.*

Also, it spins.

I find this extremely entertaining.
*Fun Fact: The center of the world is where the Equator and the Prime-Meridian meet, off the coast of West Africa

🌿Plants🌿

Person: Globes and poetry? And now plants? Wow, Katie needs to get out more no offense…

Me: Excuse me? Globes are awesome, poetry is beautifully artistic, and plants are amazing.

Person: *Coughs in spite of all the smoke because oooooof they got roasted so hard by Katie That Bookish Girl herself. Call 911, the world is on fire. 🔥

Just kidding, that wasn’t a roast, but globes, poetry, and plants are superb. First of all, plants are great for maintaining and keeping safe, refreshing, air quality levels in your home. Plants are also decorative and look good on a desk or a table. Not only that, but plants require little attention and care. All that is needed is a small amount of water every day, depending on what type of plant you are purchasing.

Just now realizing that in the paragraph above I sounded like a salesmen at Home Depot or Lowe’s.

I have a houseplant on my desk named Josephine (yes, I name my plants 😂) and I really enjoy having her.

📺The Office📺

This one should be pretty obvious because I used a little bit of foreshadowing expressing my love for The Office a GIF ago.

My favorite character is, without a doubt, Pam Beesely.

Also Jim and Pam are sooooooooo perfect together. Whenever they’re on-screen together, my inner fangirl swoons inside.

Mockingjay

The finale in Suzanne Collin’s The Hunger Games proves to be excellent, just like the previous installments. Although it broke my heart, I still loved it. The pacing was perfect (I read it in just 2 days) and the ending was so satisfying. I greatly enjoyed reading this trilogy and if you haven’t already read it, put it on your tbr list right now!

Rating: 💖💖💖💖💖

Yes. This is the only book I have read this month.

  • I went to Arizona for a wedding and reunited with family, and hung out at the pool a lot (it was 106 degrees one day!)
  • I went to New York City and saw landmarks like the Empire State Building and Ellis Island. We also went to a broadway show (School of Rock). I was truly the trip of a lifetime!
  • I didn’t read. At all.

I have officially been doing NaNoWriMo for two months.

I am 46 pages behind.

I am not disappointed.

  • I am writing this by hand, and not typing it on a computer
  • This is my very first draft
  • I haven’t planned very much of it
  • I have been very busy recently, and haven’t had the time to write every day, even if it is just 2 pages
  • I have 2 whole months of make-up time (September and October) before November starts
  • This is the most I have ever written
  • I am only 12 years old
  • I am trying my best
  • I am producing high quality writing
  • Writing is a passion that I love, not a chore that I should dread

Even though I didn’t complete my goal, I am not disappointed because I am working as hard as I can.

But still I can’t wait until I’m done and the *real* NaNoWriMo comes along…
